Workers' Compensation
Effective for the period of September 1, 2006 – August 31, 2007, Lone Star College System's new insurance carrier for workers’ compensation has been changed to The Hartford. Claims related to the 5 year period September 2001 – August 2006 will continue to be handled by Texas Political Subdivision’s (TPS) third party administrator (TPA) Attenta.
Work-Related Injuries: Reporting Instructions for Supervisors & Employees
All full-time and part-time employees injured on the job need to report the incident immediately to their supervisor.
The supervisor should report a work-related injury to the campus Human Resource (HR) Department, if working on a campus, or System Office Risk Management if working at System Office.
The employee and supervisor should communicate with staff in HR or Risk Management (as applicable) to ensure the claim is reported and the appropriate forms completed in a timely manner.
