General Counsel and Risk Management

The General Counsel's office is responsible for handling the District-wide legal issues. This staff is responsible for maintaining and interpreting the District’s Board of Trustee’s policies; and drafting, reviewing and recommending to the Board all contracts that require Board approval. This office oversees all insurance matters (property, casualty, and workers compensation) and all matters affecting the District that are being reviewed by external courts and agencies.
