Long Term Disability

Long- term disability insurance is provided to all full-time employees of the District at no charge.  Long-term disability insurance provides protection from loss of income during extended absences due to disability resulting from an accident or illness.  A waiting period of 90 consecutive days must be satisfied before disability benefits become payable.  Accumulated sick and vacation leave may be used to cover all or part of this waiting period. Monthly disability payments are equal to 60 percent of your monthly salary to a maximum monthly benefit of $6,000.
