Collegiate Leadership Institute participants
gain leadership skills and learn about community
Lone Star College System’s Collegiate Leadership Institute is currently seeking participants for the 2008-2009 program.
CLI was created five years ago to provide an opportunity to enhance leadership skills in LSCS students while learning more about their community.
The program, which begins in September 2008, consists of six sessions including a service project and concludes in April 2009 with a graduation ceremony.
“Being part of CLI broadened my view of what a leader is,” said Lorena Urbina, Lone Star College-CyFair student. “As a CLI graduate, I have learned to grow as an individual and a leader to further serve my community and others.”
Applicants must have the ability and commitment to attend all of the sessions, be currently enrolled at a Lone Star College campus or center, and plan to enroll for fall 2008 and spring 2009. A selection committee from each campus will review the applicants and make final selections.
The purpose of the program is to educate and mentor emerging student leaders for diverse roles of leadership linking the colleges, the system and the community.
Applications are available online at CyFair.LoneStar.edu/studentactivities or at all LSCS student activities offices. Completed applications must be returned and processed by Sept. 10 to LSC-CyFair Student Activities Program Managers Holly Williams at CENT 101. For information, call 281-290-3270.
